Research Using Other Data From the DASCH Scanner
- The DASCH scanner was used for about half of a day to scan 42 plates taken by the Palomar 5m telescope of the Cas A supernova remnant from 1951–1989 to facilitate a study of the expansion of optical knots in the SNR: Patnaude and Fesen (2014), A Comparison of X-ray and Optical Emission in Cassiopeia A (arXiv:1403.5812)
- The DASCH scanner was used for about three days to scan 840 plates taken by the 40 inch reflector at Lowell Observatory from 1930–1951 of the planet Pluto at the request of the New Horizons mission for its Pluto flyby. A report on the results of this effort appears in Jet Propulsion Laboratory Memorandum IOM 392R-14-003, 30 Apr 2014.
